Installation Guide

1. Typical Installation
- Place the Dragon DVD in your DVD player.
- When the Windows Installer starts, it installs the following:
- Runtime for Visual C++ 9.0

- The New DragonBar is displayed on your desktop.
- (optional) Before proceeding, see if you have any user profiles that you want to upgrade.
- User Profile Enhancement
- If you do not have any upgradable profiles, the Profile Creation wizard begins immediately.
- You’re in charge of the product. To create a User Profile, go to Creating your User Profile.
- Continue as directed.
2. Custom Installation
- After the Windows Installer begins, it installs:

- When you click Next, you’ll see a tree where you can select any specific feature of the product and use the down arrow to the left to select where/when to install it:
- Install it now on your local hard drive.
- Install now, with all subfeatures installed on your local hard drive.
- Install as needed on a just-in-time basis.
- If you do not have the Professional edition, click Next again and proceed to the next step.
- Otherwise, select any of the checkboxes under Additional options to display additional dialog.
- At the end of the installation, boxes appear where you can make changes that affect everyone.
- On this computer, users are dictating.
- To begin the installation, click Install. Once the installation is complete, proceed to any of the sections below that apply to your custom installation:
- Changing the application settings for all users
- Changing administrative preferences
- Changing the formatting options for all users
- When prompted to register the product, choose one of the available options.
- Click OK once to register the product and again to proceed.
- Check Yes, after the setup is complete, check for program updates to download any available.
- After the setup is finished, click Finish to finish the installation.
- If you previously chose to upgrade your user profiles, click OK when the message about upgrading your user profiles appears. (The message may inform you that the installation will not be completed until your system has been restarted.)
- If you were told you needed to reboot to complete the installation, do so.
